Report your claim:

- During regular business hours (weekdays, from 8:30-5:00), by contacting your Broker's Office

It is important to report your claim in a timely manner. Although the reporting of non-urgent claims (ie. a weekend fender-bender) can usually wait until the next business day, other more urgent claims (i.e. a home fire, or water damage to a home) should be reported immediately, so that an insurance adjuster can provide you with resources and advice on how to minimize the ongoing loss. In either case, it is your duty as the person insured to make sure your property is protected from further loss or damage following an accident. Please note that failure to report a claim within a reasonable period of time can result in coverage being denied.

The process is easier and faster when you have all the facts on hand. Here is information that you likely will be asked for:

AUTO CLAIM - INFO REQUIRED

• Your policy number.
• Your address, telephone number and date of birth.
• Who was driving (if it wasn't the registered driver please get the drivers name and license number).
• Date, time and location of the accident/loss.
• Where is the vehicle currently located and if it is drivable.
• Weather and road conditions at the time of the incident, if it has been towed what is the towing company name and their information.
• The name of the other driver, passengers and registered owner of vehicle.
• Information of the others insurance company and policy number.
• Extent of any injuries.
• The other person's vehicle information (year, make, model, license plate number etc.).
• Information on others involved.
• Witness(es) information (name, phone number, etc.).
• Identify if you have any immediate needs such as a rental vehicle, etc.
• Let us know if the accident was reported to police and if emergency workers were at the scene and if any charges will be laid.
• If the accident was reported to the policy, please take the name and badge number of the investigating officer.
• Extent of damage to the vehicles.
• Verbal description of the event so the type of loss and fault can be determined.

IMPORTANT

An accident must be reported to the police if; 

• Damages to any vehicle exceeds $1000,
• Anybody involved sustained injuries,
• Your insurance adjuster has instructed you to do so.

HOME CLAIM INFO REQUIRED

• Your policy number 
• Your address, telephone number and date of birth
• Where, when and how the loss occurred
• If the police or fire department were notified
• Verbal description of the occurrence so the type of loss and fault can be assessed
• Identify if you have any urgent needs such as temporary accommodations
• Details about damage to your home or contents
• Details about lost or stolen property
• Who is involved in the loss
• Third party information and any injuries
• Witness(es) information (name, phone number, etc.)
• Whether or not any property continues to be at risk
